Asphalt 8: Airborne, the latest high-octane racing game from Gameloft, is now free for a limited time as part of Apple’s App of the Week promotion. The discount comes less than two months after the game made its App Store debut, and it’s usually priced at $0.99.
We shouldn’t need to convince you to go and download a free game, but our review of Asphalt 8 will give you some idea of how good this game is. In short, it’s a huge improvement over other titles in the Asphalt series, featuring 47 high-performance cars — many of which are licensed, like the Lamborghini Veneno, Bugatti Veyron, Ferrari FXX, and Pagani Zonda R.
There are also nine different settings to enjoy, with tracks in Venice, Iceland, the Nevada desert, and other exciting locations; plus 8 seasons and over 180 events in career mode. For those who like to play with or against friends, there’s also a multiplayer mode with asynchronous racing, leaderboards and achievements, and real-time action for up to 8 players.
