If there’s one thing we all need more of, it’s Angry Birds, am I right? No?
Well, either way, it doesn’t matter: you’re getting more of them. Rovio just announced the pending release of Angry Birds: Go!, a kart racing iOS game set to go live on the App Store December 11, 2013, which is–not too coincidentally–the Finnish studio’s fourth birthday birdday.
Angry Birds: Go! Looks like a typical kart racing video game, with 3D tracks, coins and power ups to collect, various styles of go karts, and all your favorite Angry Birds characters, like Bubbles, Chuck, Red, Bombs, Stella, Blues, Corporal Pig, Moustache Pig, King Pig, Terence, Hal, and Matilda. Note that you’ll slingshot your birds or pigs out of the starting gate and then race them around different tracks in the first 3D Angry Birds game so far.
As if that weren’t enough, Rovio has teamed up with toymaker Hasbro, who will produce what it’s calling TelePods: real figurines of the Angry Birds characters in their karts, ready to connect to your iPad devices, Skylanders and Disney Infinity-style. You’ll set the little figurine on your iPad’s camera to switch racers before the race starts. Fun!
With a few more months to go before the big release, there’s sure to be more details along the way, and we’ll be sure to get them out to you as soon as we can.
