1Password For iOS Finally Syncs With Mac Counterpart Via Wi-Fi

By

1Password-4

1Password, the popular password manager from AgileBits, has today been updated to finally support Wi-Fi syncing between Mac and iOS devices. The update also adds the ability to change the built-in browser’s user agent, and improves support for the latest iOS 7 firmware.

The ability to sync 1Password for Mac and iOS over Wi-Fi is a wonderful addition to an already terrific app. It means those who aren’t comfortable syncing via iCloud or Dropbox can now sync directly with their Mac without having to tether their iOS device while the process takes place.

In addition to this, this update adds custom icons that were first added to 1Password 4 for Mac to the iOS app, and allows users to change the built-in browser user agent — in case you want to load a desktop website rather than the mobile version, for instance.

There is also a long list of improvements with this release, including:

What’s Improved

* Better support for iOS 7
* Greatly improved initial iCloud sync performance.
* Improved search performance.
* Diagnostic information is now emailed as an attachment.

What’s Fixed

* Fixed visual issues with search results on iOS 7.
* Fixed bug that where 1Password process did not terminate after Erase Data.
* Fixed problem where iCloud sync did not start automatically on the initial launch.
* Fixed bug where it was not possible to change the name of an item.
* Fixed sorting and indentation of folders when viewing them in the popover.
* Fixed crash when using voice over and generate password.
* Fixed crash when syncing with Dropbox.
* Fixed problem where sync status would always be shown at the very beginning for a few seconds when switching to the settings view.

You can download the latest version of 1Password for iOS from the App Store now. It’s priced at $17.99 if you don’t already own it, while the Mac version will set you back $39.99.
