The NullRiver tethering application we blogged earlier today is apparently still available on the AppStore through a direct link according to Cult of Mac sources.

No indication how long this may be the case, so if you are interested in the technology…

Crap. Apparently the app isn’t available for people in the Canadian iTunes store.

I snagged the app when it was first up but who knows maybe they will disable it. I think it is so lame that Apple has pulled it. Apple created the store to vet apps for security, if they are gonna start pulling apps or denying apps that give much needed functionality for pretty transparent and self serving reasons, especially in countries where it is allowed by the carrier then they are now willfully inconveniencing their customers. I am okay with the app store setup to a point but there’s only so much restriction we can handle before the thing starts to seem like more of a liability than a convenience and a tool. I hope they are just reviewing which stores to carry it in or something but even so, this is just one more pr blow for them in an already bad few weeks.
