Apple is set to unveil the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S during a press event at its Cupertino campus on September 10th, but rather than letting the mothership have all the fun, Apple plans to spread its marketing message with three satellite launches in Europe and Asia.
A few hours after the conclusion of next Tuesday’s keynote in Cupertino, Apple will launch satellite events in Berlin, Tokyo, and Beijing to promote its new handsets, according to a report from AllThingsD:
“These satellite launches will be held in Berlin, Tokyo and Beijing, and will feature a video stream or more time-zone-friendly replay of the Cupertino event, along with some other content. They’re not an entirely new occurrence; Apple has done them before in London and Tokyo.”
Rumors began to circulate yesterday that the Beijing event will be used to announce Apple’s new partnership with China Mobile. With over 740 million subscribers, China Mobile could be a massive revenue stream for Apple. The two companies have reportedly been in active negotiations, and China Mobile’s unique TD-LTE network is finally compatible with next-generation iPhones.
