An Apple iPhone event for September 10 has been all but confirmed in recent weeks, and we’re almost certain that we’ll see the unveiling of both the iPhone 5S and the iPhone 5C. But what about new iPads? There have been rumors that claim they won’t arrive until October, but according to a new Bloomberg report, they’ll be part of the September 10 event as well.

In an article about Apple’s upcoming Tokyo retail store, Bloomberg mentions:

The Cupertino, California-based company plans to introduce new versions of its phone and tablet at a Sept. 10 event, a person familiar with the matter has said, and the company promised “several more game changers” in the product pipeline as it tries to fend off Samsung Electronics Co. and Chinese makers selling cheaper handsets.

This isn’t the first time Bloomberg has mentioned this, either. “Apple, which hasn’t released a new handset this year, plans to introduce new versions of its iPhone and iPad at a Sept. 10 event, according to a person familiar with the matter,” read an August 19 article.

It seems surprising Apple would announce new iPhones and new iPads during the same event. We were expecting a deluge of new iOS devices this fall, but we anticipated that Apple would hold two events several weeks apart so that they weren’t so overwhelming.

Maybe you should prepare your credit card for a new iPhone and a new iPad on the same day, then.

Update: The Loop’s Jim Dalrymple has already shot down this rumor. Bloomberg has also removed the above references to iPads in September. Looks like we’ll have to wait until October for new iPads.
