Triple Click The Home Button For Accessibility Options [iOS Tips]

There are a host of accessibility options within iOS, and many of them can be the difference between someone being able to use a mobile device and not being able to use it. There are also a ton of reasons why those of us without a disability might want to check them out.

That said, it can be time consuming and even difficult to hop into the Accessibility section to activate specific features, especially if you are dealing with some sort of disability. That’s why Apple has set iOS up to make them easier to access right from the Home button. Here’s how to set it up and use it.

Launch the settings app on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, tap General, and then tap Accessibility. Scroll down the list to Triple-click Home and tap it.

You’ll now see the four different options that can be enabled when you click the Home button rapidly three times: VoiceOver, Invert Colors, Zoom, and AssistiveTouch. If you tap on any one of them, you’ll get a checkmark next to it. When you have only one feature enabled, triple-clicking the Home button will automatically turn on that service or feature.

Tap more than one feature, though, and you’ll get iOS to ask you which you want to enable. This can be handy if you use more than one accessibility feature, or want to be able to turn them all off and on when handing it off to another user. To choose the accessibility feature you want, simply tap the choice in the badge-like dialog box that pops up after a triple-click to the Home button.
