The iWork for iCloud beta, which allows you to use Pages, Numbers, and Keynote inside your web browser, is now available to all at iCloud.com. You do not need to be an existing iWork customer to take advantage of the apps, but if you are, you can now access all of the iWork documents you’ve stored in iCloud from absolutely anywhere.
The great thing about iWork for iCloud is that it doesn’t require a Mac. So if you’re away from your home or office and you have to use a Windows-powered PC, you can still view, edit, and create documents in your web browser. You can even use the web apps to edit Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files.
The iWork web apps are snappy, and they provide all of the features you’ll need for most tasks. Apple has also promised that things like version history, chart editing, table editing in Pages and Keynote, and support for additional browsers will also be available later on.
iWork for iCloud was first announced at WWDC back in June, and it was initially made available to registered developers only. Apple then started rolling it out to members of the public in small phases, but now it’s available to all. All you need is the latest version of Chrome, Safari, or Internet Explorer and an iCloud account.
