In all likelihood, the iPhone 5S and 5C will be released in the United States on Friday, September 20th. What about Apple’s second most important market, though, China?

Well, if you’re a Chinese Apple fan, we’ve got bad news for you. You’re going to probably have to wait a lot longer for Apple’s new smartphones than the rest of us. A new report says the iPhone 5S and 5C won’t be released in China until November 28th.

According to a report from First Financial Daily, translated by CNET:

China’s First Financial Daily is reporting that the release date is set for November 28. (Note that BrightWire News also is reporting this date, citing a telecommunications analyst, Yang Tao, who appears in the First Financial Daily report).

That would come about two months after the rumored global launch. The reason: the next-gen iPhone has not completed the verification process required by the country’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the report said.

The report also suggests that the Qualcomm chips in the new iPhones will support the China Mobile network. China Mobile currently does not carry the iPhone, but bringing it to the network would open up to an astonishingly large pool of new customers: China Mobile is the world’s largest carrier and has 700 million customers. That’s a whole lot of new iPhones to sell.
