Autodesk has a rich history of offeringstunning, free iOS apps that do some pretty spectacular things. Their latest app, Homestyler, lets you virtually redecorate your house with remarkable detail.
Start by either taking a photo of a room, picking one from the app’s pre-stocked gallery or creating one from scratch by starting with an empty space.
Once the room is ready, you can drop in furnishings and bric-a-brac from a catalog of real stuff that Autodesk says is updated daily. Want to repaint the walls? Just swipe your finger.
Autodesk rounded out the technical wizardry with some robust social functions. You can comment on or like the designs others have posted, or share your ideas on Facebook or email them. When you want to get serious, the app will even connect with to a design professional.
The app is designed for both the iPad and the iPhone, but who would want to design their dream home on a tiny four-inch screen?
