Earlier this month, Best Buy kicked off a two-day promotion that offered up a $200 gift card when you traded in your old iPad for a brand new model. It was obviously a big success, because just two weeks later, the promotion is running for a second time.

Those with an iPad 2 or third-generation iPad qualify for the trade-in, and Best Buy promises a minimum of $200 in return — that will vary depending on the condition of your device, and whether you still have the charging cable and adapter for it.

The promotion is available in store only.

With your gift card, you can get a new fourth-generation 16GB iPad with Retina display for just $299.99. This model features the new Lightning connector, an A6X processor with quad-core graphics, and a 5-megapixel iSight camera capable of shooting 1080p video.

These iPad trade-in promotions follow Best Buy’s iPhone trade-in programs that were held back in June, which offered customers a free iPhone 5 when they traded in their old iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S. Best Buy hasn’t revealed how many iPhone it sold during these events, but it has said that they were an “overwhelming success.”

The iPad trade-in program comes just a few months before Apple is expected to refresh its entire lineup of iOS devices, so bear than in mind when you consider an upgrade. You may want to hold onto your cash and put it towards the latest model this fall.
