Gun Monkeys – Fling An Army Of Enjoyably Expendable Monkeys Into The Future

You know what the world needs? More free energy sources. Also? We need more games with monkeys in.

Luckily, Gun Monkeys, the new platformer-shooter from Size Five Games, has both.

Lovingly narrated by British actor Kevin Eldon, Gun Monkeys involves a plot wherein you’ll need to send a bunch of monkeys to the distant future where things are super dangerous yet also incredibly full of free energy. To get the energy, you’ll need to send the monkeys. It’s that simple.

As you can see in the trailer above, Gun Monkeys looks to be a game of frenetic, fast-paced shooter action, with lots of monkeys involved. All of the levels are procedurally generated, meaning you’ll never play the same level twice (though you know what they say about monkeys and Shakespeare, right?), and you’ll get to play online against your frenemies in an online Deathmatch to the, well, the death. Monkey death.

The developers have this to say:

In Gun Monkeys, players take charge of a modern-day power company. In the distant future, a catastrophic experiment into Perpetual Energy obliterates all human life, leaving the world choc-full of free-for-the-taking energy. Your job is to send a legion of pleasingly-expendable monkeys forwards in time to collect Power Cubes and return them to present-day, all from the comfort of your PC. Sadly, it looks like one or two other entrepreneurs have had the exact same idea…

Lucky for us all, Gun Monkeys is having a launch sale for 10 percent off the typical $10, making your entry to the Gun Monkeys franchise much less expensive at $9. It’s available for Mac and PC, right now, so go give it a looksee.

Because you can never get enough of exploding monkeys.
