Rockstar Games has today updated Grand Theft Auto 3 for iOS to finally introduce support for the iPhone 5’s larger display. The update also adds the ability to play custom playlists in-game, and sync your game saves between other iOS devices via iCloud.

Given that the iPhone 5’s been out for a fair few months now, it’s about time Rockstar updated GTA 3 for its larger display. But we won’t be too harsh on them. After all, they have been busy bringing us the incredible Vice City, and likely working on the 10th anniversary release of San Andreas on mobile — which should come out next year.

This update also adds support for custom playlists, which allow you to listen to your own music within the game. To setup a custom playlist, just create a playlist titled “GTA3” within your Music app and fill it with all the tracks you’d like to listen to while playing.

You’ll find support for iCloud game syncing now as well, which lets you seamlessly sync your progression across all of your iOS devices. So when you complete missions on your iPhone, you’ll be able to pick up the game from where you left off on your iPad.

Rockstar also promises “various stability and bug fixes” in this release. You can download it now from the App Store.
