Tumblr Adds OS X-Like Stacks To iOS App

Alongside Yahoo’s $1.1 billion acquisition of Tumblr today, the social network also released a big update to its iOS app.

There’s a “fancy” new interface interface for selecting a certain kind of post to create. If it looks familiar, that’s because you’re thinking of Stacks in OS X, the crescendoing lists of apps you can add to your Mac’s dock. Path has also been using this kind of interface on mobile as well.

Another addition in today’s app update is the ability to see post attribution. That will make it easier to track the source of a reblog that’s gaining a lot of attention.

Tumblr’s app is available for free in the App Store. It works on iPhone and iPad.
