Piano Passcode Won’t Unlock Your iPhone Until You Play It A Jaunty Tune [Jailbreak]

There are a number of tweaks for jailbroken iOS devices that add alternative security measures to your lock screen, but Piano Passcode is possibly one of the craziest. Rather than typing a code or drawing a pattern, you have to play it a tune on a set of virtual keys.

You specify the tune first, of course, and then Piano Passcode prevents your device from being unlocked until that tune is played. Check out the demonstration video below.

It’s unclear whether the tweak just recognizes the combination of the keys you press, or whether you actually have to get the tempo right, too. But it seems like it could get a little complicated. It’s a unique idea and I really like it, but I’m not sure I’d have the patience to play a tune every time I want to unlock my device.

As you can see from the video, though, there’s also a regular passcode option.

Piano Passcode is a work in progress at the moment, but as soon as it’s made available through Cydia, we’ll let you know.
