Tweetbot — just our favorite Twitter client for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad — has just gotten a sweet update with one killer new feature: a swank new media timeline that allows you to quickly browse through just the images and videos popping up in your Twitter stream.

Available now on the App Store, version 2.8 of Tapbot’s awesome Twitter client has some pretty cool new features. Here are the release notes:

– New media timeline. Scroll to the top of a timeline and switch to the new media view (next to the search box). This view displays only supported image and video tweets.
– Completely redesigned image viewer
– Tweet/status detail view now displays the number of Favs and Retweets
– Fixed Instagram Previews

I like the new media timeline, although it strikes me as a bit slow. Fixed Instagram previews is also a nice one: I’ve hated Twitter’s shutting out of Instagram ‘card’ previews in my Twitter stream, and it’s nice to have it back.

The new update can be downloaded through App Store Updates, or directly by clicking here for the iPad version and here for the iPhone and iPod touch version.
