As the last major carrier in the U.S. to sell the iPhone, T-Mobile has a lot of catching up to do if it wants to become competitive with AT&T, Verizon, and even Sprint. With the iPhone 5 set to launch on T-Mobile tomorrow, the carrier is preparing a massive media blitz to try and win new customers.
Along with its “uncarrier” plans and the $100 iPhone 5 price point, T-Mobile has been busy training its employees on the benefits of switching to T-Mobile from a cost perspective, and right now it looks like T-Mobile is the cheapest carrier to roll with on your iPhone.
TmoNews reports that T-Mobile might have bought some major ad time tomorrow night at 835 to 840. While we haven’t been able to verify the truth of that, it’s reasonable to expect T-Mobile to launch a slew of new television commercials tomorrow to promote the iPhone 5.
As for launch day, iPhone 5 inventory is supposed to hit T-Mobile stores today. If you’re wanting a 16GB model, you should be able to pick one up from any T-Mobile retail store, but the 32GB and 64GB versions will only be available online or via Direct Ship. There will be a limit of two iPhone 5 units per customer, but we doubt there will be any lines before stores open.
