Remember Rego? It’s the place-saving app whose name means “asshole” in Brazil, and which lets you check-into and remember locations without sharing them.
When the app launched a couple of weeks ago, I moaned,whined and complained endlessly about the lack of a search function for places – you just had to swipe and pinch your way there manually. Now v1.1 is here. And it brings search, accessing the Foursquare database, as well as using Apple Maps search and grabbing places from your contacts.
You can also edit your shared places (yes, you can share them if you like), sort your list of places and export the list to a GPX file (“proper” sync is on its way ).
You still can’t take non-square photos, which seems weird for an app dedicated to places (which are often non-square), but that’s a small quibble: after all, you iPhone already does a fine job of saving your snaps on a map.
As before, the app is free, and an in-app purchase buys you unlimited place saves (the trial version is limited to 10).
