Starwood Hotels recently opened Aloft Cupertino, a slick hotel that is located two blocks away from Apple’s famous One Infinite Loop headquarters in Cupertino, California. Given its close proximity to Apple itself, it only makes sense for Aloft to put Apple products into its rooms.

Unlike the crappy cable boxes that are usually in hotels, Aloft has installed an Apple TV in each of its 123 rooms with full access to all of the set-top box’s features, including AirPlay.

Showcasing many of the brand’s newest technologies, Aloft Cupertino is the first Aloft hotel to feature Apple TV in all its guestrooms. Guests can choose among thousands of movies and TV shows from iTunes, connect to Netflix for films, Hulu for television shows, MLB.com for sports, and much more. Apple TV’s Airplay feature will also let guests play video, show off photos, and enjoy music from any iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch – right on their 42-inch LCD in-room TV. In the lobby, guests can access “Cool Concierge,” a tablet-based concierge program that guests can use to look up directions, phone numbers, make reservations, check their flight status and print boarding passes. Starting in March, the hotel will also offer Smart Check-In, allowing guests to bypass the front desk and go straight to their rooms using radio frequency identification (RFID) technology.

This isn’t your average Motel 6. Each Aloft Cupertino room comes with its own private WiFi network for AirPlay and a networked storage server. As CNET notes, you can give the hotel your iTunes Store of choice (for international visitors) before you arrive and the staff will program the Apple TV accordingly before you arrive. Each Apple TV is wiped clean after guests leave.

Alfot Cupertino looks like a really nice place. Now I want to stay there.
