Are Virtual Sex Games More PC than Mac?
Playgirl’s Virtual Encyclopedia of Sex aims to help you brush up on some old positions and learn a few new tricks thanks to a series of customizable 3D male and female avatars.

You can tattoo them, choose lingerie, amount of body hair (though, sadly, this seems an option only for male models), hair color, skin tone etc.

Inked up and ready for love: customizable avatars.

There’s a game feature where couples of your making demonstrate the positions as well as an “improve your sex IQ” area that promises to help you master the latest wild sex positions, improve your timing and technique, including spoken instructions by sexologist Jamye Waxman. It costs $29.99.

What intrigued me about it — besides the slightly waxy bots who go at it in a trance-like way a là Paris Hilton’s sex video — is that it’s  billed as the “first 3D sex game ever designed to run natively on an Apple Mac computer.”

Isn’t anyone at Artmunk, who made the game, old enough to remember Mike Saenz’s MacPlaymate or Virtual Valerie from the late 1980s, or are they hinging everything on the 3d part?

Even if the claim is false, there do, however, seem to be fewer erotic games for Mac than PC. (We cheerfully accept your modern recommendations in the comments).

Mr Macintosh’s Macworld Doo

Still, the question remains: is it strictly a numbers game or does the Mac platform inspire less erotica?

Or do Mac users have better ways to get their rocks off and virtual sex is more a PC past time?

Mac users spend less time fixing their computers, thus they can go out to bars, meet women and have sexual intercourse with them.

    No need for software. :D

    Their website looks pretty hot!

  • MacHard

Mac users already have the hard ware, don’t need the soft ware.

  • Um no

I think Mac users know enough about sex not to consider f***ing against a brick wall with a picture frame!

Ted — it does look like it’s just hetero action, which seems kind of odd.
