Apple’s Cheap iPhone Will Have Same 4-Inch Display As iPhone 5 [Rumor]

The rumors that Apple’s making a cheaper iPhone have kind of died down a bit with all the iWatch madness, but there’s a new rumor to add some more smoke to the situation.

KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo says that the low-cost iPhone is indeed coming, and it will have the same 4-inch screen as the iPhone 5.

While we’ve given up on publishing unfounded rumors from shoddy analysts, Ming-Chi Kuo does have some real Apple-cred to his name. He predicted the iPhone 4S timeline and changes. He also got the launch of the iPad 2 right, and predicted a white iPhone 4 when no one else did, so he may be onto something with this.

According to Kuo, Apple’s cheap iPhone will have a “super-thin plastic casing mixed with glass fiber” so it’s strong but cheaper to manufacturer than an aluminum frame. The cheaper iPhone will allegedly come in a variety of colors, and be thinner than the current iPhone.

Apple is expected to announce the iPhone 5S in late summer 2013, and the cheap iPhone should make an appearance at the same event if Apple really does release it.

A low budget iPhone, maybe. But at same event as the 5S, really doubtful. I mean why have another phone still the spotlight from the loved premium high quality phones people always show up for. I Mean two phones of about same software and internal quality, but different externals at different prices to compete in the same market? Only way that’s gonna happen is if the phones take the same route as the ipad 3 and the ipad mini. The cheap version with old hardware and the 5S with latest hardware. Just saying.
