We love photography at Cult of Mac. Whether it’s sharing photos at events through Instagram, or going outdoors and taking pictures for Flickr, snapping pictures and sharing them is one of our favorite ways to interact with readers. It’s also one of our favorite ways to write articles.
Today, Cult of Mac is introducing our new Flickr and Instagram groups. We want to see what life is like for all of our Apple fans across the globe, plus give you guys a way to get your pictures on the CultofMac.com homepage. The Flickr and Instagram groups will be the best place to see how Apple’s
Here’s how to join:
Flickr
Anyone can join the Cult of Mac Flickr Group and post pictures. Once you’ve joined you can post pictures in the Group Pool, or create new discussion threads and talk about any topic you want, from iPhoneography, to Jailbreaking tweaks, to tips on editing photos.
We hope you’ll post pictures in the Group Pool whenever you see something Apple inspired. Got a sweet project you’re working on on your Mac? Screenshot it and post a picture. Or if you took a picture on your iPhone that you’re proud of, add it to the pool. Even if you’re just at your local Apple Store and want to post a picture into the group, go ahead and do it.
With all the improvements being made to Flickr, and their new rocking app, we’re pretty excited about the possibilities of creating an Apple-oriented photo community on here, but we need your help to do it. We’re going to post your best Flickr pictures on CultofMac.com every week, so this is your chance to shine. We can’t wait to see what you guys come up with.
While you can’t create a “group” on Instagram like on Flickr, you can organize photos via hashtags. We’re going to promote #CultofMac a lot more on Instagram, starting now. Some of you already use #CultofMac and it’s awesome! It’s the easiest way for us to see all of your Apple-themed Instagram pics.
Every week we’re going to compile the best #CultofMac pics from Instagram and post them on CultofMac.com to show everyone the cool stuff you guys are doing everyday. If you want to post the same picture in the Cult of Mac Flickr Group and on Instagram, that’s great.
Contest
To kick things off we’re hosting a new contest to see who can create the most amazing looking jailbreak homescreen. Winners of the contest will see their homescreen on CultofMac.com and we’re giving away some free apps as well. Here’s how to enter.
