SubtleLock Brings A Touch Of Minimalism To Your iPhone’s Home Screen [Jailbreak]

Unless it’s full of unread notifications, the iPhone’s lock screen is already pretty bare — Apple has designed it to be clean and clear, like the rest of iOS. But you can take it a step further with SubtleLock, a new tweak for jailbroken iPhones that adds a touch of minimalism to your lock screen to provide you with more space and a cleaner look.

Once installed, SubtleLock slims down the bars at the top and bottom of your lock screen to make them as thin as they possibly can be without removing their functionality. So you’ll still see the time and date, only the clock’s a little smaller, and the date sits alongside it — rather then beneath it.

The lock screen slider and camera shortcut also remain, and they stay the same size, so they’re still as easy to use with your thumbs. But any unnecessary space is removed, providing you with an additional 100 pixels on the lock screen, according to SubtleLock’s developer.

That gives your more room for notifications, and provides you with a bigger window to your wallpaper.

The great thing about SubtleLock is that it has its own preferences with the Settings menu, and you can enable or disable it on the fly without having to respring each time.

You can download SubtleLock now from Cydia’s BigBoss repository, and it’s priced at $1.
