The world of djing has changed quite a bit since the iPhone and iPad. Companies like Algoriddim released djay, a popular DJ app that has won an Apple Design Award. DJ controllers have started interfacing with these kinds of apps, but a new product called the Vestax Spin 2 is the world’s first MIDI controller created exclusively for djay and vjay, Algoriddim’s two iOS and Mac apps.

Developed as a joint effort between Vestax and Algoriddim, the Spin 2 is a portable, studio-grade mixer and controller with touch-sensitive jogwheels, sample pads, and strip touch control. The controller works with both djay and vjay, Algoriddim’s music and video mixing apps. The Spin 2 can be setup to work with an iPhone, iPad, and Mac running the software.

Some features:

  • Charges iOS device while you play
  • Compact and lightweight body, ideal for portability
  • Touch-sensitive jog wheels: scratch, bend, scrub
  • Strip Touch control for easy in-track searching
  • Hot cues, looping, and sample pads
  • Dedicated filter and FX controls
  • Built-in multi-channel audio interface for output and pre-cueing (Mac and iOS)

The Spin 2 is available exclusively from the Apple Store for $350.
