Fantastical and 1Password, two essential applications for any Mac OS X user, have both had their price tags slashed by 50% for a limited time. Fantastical is now down from $19.99 to $9.99, while 1Password is down from $49.99 to $24.99. They’re both available to purchase from the Mac App Store now.
Fantastical
Fantastical is a personal favorite of mine. I’ve been using it for a number of years, and it continues to improve with every new release. Once installed, Fantastical sits in your Mac’s menu bar and allows you to access your calendar from anywhere. Just click on it and you’ll get a pop-down window that shows your upcoming appointments, and allows you to add new ones.
Fantastical’s best feature is its natural language recognition. Rather than filling out a number of boxes to create an event at a certain date and time, you just type it all into Fantastical exactly as you’d say it. For example, you can type “meeting with Tom at The Ivy on Friday at 4 p.m.,” and Fantastical will go ahead and create the event for you.
Fantastical is now just $9.99 until February 14, so grab it while you can using the link below. It’s also available on the iPhone for $4.99.
1Password
1Password is the ultimate password and identity storage tool. If you’re the kind of person who’s always forgetting their passwords and login details, it’s a must-have. Every time you create an account, or you get a new credit card, ID card, or membership card, you can store the details in 1Password so that you always have them at hand.
They’re stored securely so that the only person who can access them is you, so you don’t need to worry about someone else seeing your personal data. Furthermore, 1Password works directly with your web browser, allowing you to quickly login to websites, enter credit card information, and complete registration forms with just one password.
1Password is now just $24.99, but it’s unclear how long the sale’s on. With that being the case, grab it while you can using the link below. Like Fantastical, 1Password’s available on iOS, too, and all of your data can be synchronized between your Mac and iOS devices.
