Construction Chic: Incipio’s AR Tape-Measuring iPhone Case

This is a rather specialized iPhone case, but if you’re, say, an interior designer or even just a fan of the color scheme of the end-of-level doors on first-person shooters, you’re going to love it.
The case comes from Incipio, and it turns your iPhone into a virtual tape measure.
Yeah, yeah – there are plenty of tape measuring apps in the the App Store. But the iPhone 5 Rugged AR Case And Mobile Utility App adds an extra twist of accuracy, using a detachable section as a marker so that you can measure distances of up to 20 feet.
The case also has a belt clip, which makes me wonder why you couldn’t just leave the phone in your pocket and clip a real tape measure to your belt. But that’s clearly very old-fashioned of me.
The case should be popping up on Incipio’s store any time now (the release date is just “February,” for the reasonable, reasonable price of $40.
