Tank Case Is An Elegant, Slimline Flak Jacket For Your iPad

This is just about the coolest iPad case you’ll see this week. It’s called the Tank, and it’s an aluminum beast which will protect your iPad and also twist to stand in pretty much any position you choose. If a movie protagonist was to walk purposefully down a street with an iPad handcuffed to his wrist, it’d be sat inside a Tank.

The Tank, from Innopocket, is made up of two “polymeric membrane”-lined aluminum shells, both of which have a crossed embossed into them for stiffness and bump protection. That huge plastic hinge is just that: a hinge. Only it can open to a full 360˚, putting the front flat against the back, or twisted to act as a vertical stand, or locked to make a horizontal stand at any angle, or (finally) opened up to make a little prop for typing purposes.

Considering all this, the $100 asking price isn’t too steep, especially as it’ll work with all big iPads except the first one. Available now
