SNL's Fred Armisen gushed about his love for Apple on the Macworld stage.

macworldbug SAN FRANCISCO, MACWORLD/iWORLD 2013 – If you’ve ever watched an episode of Portlandia then you probably have the feeling that its two stars, Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein, are huge fans of Apple products.

A lot of Portlandia’s comedy sketches revolve around society’s obsession for technology. They’re brilliant. Many of the sketches feature Apple products, but it’s very rare to see a PC or Android phone on the show. At Macworld this morning, Armisen said that they only put PCs in the show at places where it’s appropriate – like the DMV.

While talking about his sketch comedy show Portlandia on the Macworld stage, Armisen was asked why they use so many Apple products in their sketches. The answer – Armisen and his team like Apple products more than anything else and they think they’re easier to use.

When they want to do a sketch at a boring, crappy place, Portlandia will show a PC. If they want to do scene that’s more about personal life, they always lean towards Apple.

Armisen said that Apple actually helps them out with the show from time to time. If they’re going to do a sketch that calls for an Apple product, Fred will email Apple to get permission to show it on air, and they’ll just say “ok.” No further questions asked, and most times they send a free unit to use.

There’s no doubt that Armisen and the other Portlandia creators are unabashed Apple fanboys. Throughout his keynote at Macworld Armisen showed clips of Portlandia that highlight his love for Apple.

I buy products without even knowing what they are sometimes. I remember not even understanding what the iPad was at first and I bought it out of excitement. I’m happy just because of the way it looks.
