This morning we told you about how the iPad 5 will look a lot like an iPad mini with a 10-inch Retina display. iLounge’s report also said that Apple is preparing the rumored less-expensive iPhone to sell in China at a significantly cheaper price.

Now iLounge has shared some additional details regarding the iPhone 5S, namely that one of the next-gen device’s flagship features will be an upgraded camera. Apple’s internal code names for the iPad 5 and second-gen iPad mini have also been revealed.

“The iPhone 5S is still months away from mass production, but our source suspects that the star feature will be an upgraded rear camera—perhaps featuring Sony’s 13-Megapixel sensor, plus the aforementioned flash upgrade—along with a processor bump,” reports the reliable iLounge Editor-in-Chief, Jeremy Horwitz. “Current prototypes are codenamed N51 and N53, with July mentioned as the target date.” The iPhone 5’s rear camera is 8 megapixels. Apple had always upgraded the iPhone’s camera and processor with each new release, so this is to be expected.

We’ve heard that Apple will release two new iPhones this year, but this is the first time specific months have been mentioned. Apple has been releasing new iPhones in the fall, but a summer 2013 timeframe would create a nice gap for new iPads in October. Apple could also possibly wait to release a less-expensive iPhone at the October event. Apparently the iPad 5 was originally on track for a March release, but IGZO display-related holdups with Sharp are halting production overseas.

Internal code names are given by Apple for unreleased products, the iPad 5’s code name is J72, according to iLounge’s sources. The second-gen iPad mini’s code name is J85, and it will reportedly “look and feel basically the same as the first-generation model but feature a Retina screen.”
