Add A Splash Of Color To Your iPad Mini With Speck’s New CandyShell Cases [CES 2013]

At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas today, Speck expanded its family of CandyShell accessories with two brand new cases for the iPad mini. The CandyShell and CandyShell Grip both sport Speck’s patented dual-layer design, which combines a rubbery, shock-resistant interior with a hard plastic exterior to protect your iPad mini from accidental dings and drops. The cases are also available in an array of “on-trend” colors for 2013.

CandyShell

The CandyShell offers a hard outer shell with a sleek, glossy finish — plus a soft, rubbery interior that absorbs shock and protects your iPad mini when you drop it — which is almost guaranteed to happen at least once. A raised bezel around the front edge of the CandyShell will protect your iPad mini’s display, while rubberized covers will shield its buttons.

CandyShell Grip

The CandyShell Grip is a little different, taking its inspiration from Speck’s gamer-friendly iPod touch case. It offers the same dual-layer shock protection as the CandyShell, plus interwoven plastic and rubber grips that promise to make your iPad mini easier to hold — ideal for when you’re gaming.

“The CandyShell design offers both style and protection, which make sense for the smaller, more portable iPad mini,” said Bryan Hynecek, Vice President of Design at Speck. “We’ve also seen a lot of people on the go with the iPad mini, so we felt an easy-to-hold case like CandyShell Grip was a good fit for the way the device is being used.”

Both the CandyShell and the CandyShell Grip for iPad mini are available from Speck’s website using the source link below.

Are these available for the ipad-maxi too? I’m starting to really dislike the smudge magnet apple iPad smart case.
