Griffin WoodTones Wooden Headphones Blend Perfectly With Your Grandmother’s Furniture [CES 2013]

CES 2013 bug LAS VEGAS, CES 2013 – Wooden speakers apparently make the sound that issues from them seem warmer and more appealing. Maybe so, but in the $99 headphone range there are probably other cost-based design factors that make more difference. Still, these WoodTones headphones from Griffin certainly look warm and appealing.

They come in walnut, sapele (aka aboudikro, as if you didn’t know) and beech. They’re light, and they have a detachable cord with an inline mic for trying to make Siri understand you, and as I said, they cost $100.

I haven’t had a chance to try these away from the noisy show floor, so I don’t know if they sound better than my favorite $60 RHA SA950is, but style-wise they certainly have most other cans beat.
