One of the best pieces of iPhonography kit we’ve played with is the Olloclip, a tiny gizmo that clips onto the corner of the iPhone 4/S and gives photographers the use of three additional lenses; now it’s finally available for the iPhone 5.
Attach it one way and the Olloclip’s wide-angle lens fits over the iPhone’s lens for about double the field of view of the already-wide stock view; flip it around and attach it the other way and your iPhone is now fitted with a 180-degree fish-eye lens. The third lens is a 10x macro for closeups, and it’s accessed by simply unscrewing the wide-angle lens until it detaches. Olloclip says the fisheye lens is an exceptional choice when paired with the new panoramic mode in the iPhone 4S/5.
Our own Giles Turnbull reviewed the iPhone 4/S version a year ago and came away very impressed, bandying about words like “fun” and “excellent.” And here’re some clips of how the Olloclip can be used in video.
The iPhone 5 Olloclip is $70.
