Adobe pushed out a big update to its Ideas app for iOS today, introducing a number of news tools and features that promise to give you “more creative options and control.” There are enhanced tools for drawing, working with color, and managing layers, Adobe says — in addition to support for the iPhone 5, iPad mini, and iOS 6.

Adobe’s release notes for this update explain what’s new:

Now Version 2.5 gives you more creative options and control. Choose from three new drawing tools, quickly fill entire sections of a design with color, duplicate or merge layers, and flip layers horizontally or vertically. An enhanced eyedropper tool lets you easily compare and match colors in different parts of your artwork.

As you’d expect, the update is free to all existing Adobe Ideas customers, and it’s available to download from the App Store now. For those of you who haven’t already purchased this app, its price tag is $9.99, and it’s well worth it.

Ideas is like a digital sketchbook for your iOS devices; it lets you capture your ideas whenever and wherever you may be in the most creative way possible. You can sketch using intuitive touch controls, with a whole host of different tools. And if you’re an Adobe Creative Cloud subscriber, you can sync your Ideas projects between your devices, and open them in Adobe Illustrator on your Mac.
