Slow Down The Home-Click Speed In iOS 6 For Less Frustration [iOS Tips]

Home-click Speed

The iPhone is a paragon of simple design. It packs a ton of complexity in a simple, easy to understand package. One example is the iconic Home button. One click of the iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad touch will wake your device, a click and hold will bring up Siri, and a triple click can enable a host of accessibility features.

Did you know, however, that you can set the speed at which the Home button will recognize your clicks? Added in iOS 6, this feature will be a boon to anyone with motor issue or even just those of us who want to slow down the speed at which we double or triple click that Home button.

First step is to launch your Settings app with a tap. Tap into the General settings section, then scroll down to Accessibility. Tap it to open the Accessibility area. Tap once on Home-click Speed and then choose either Slow or Slowest. This will slow down the rate at which you’ll need to double or triple click the Hme button to activate the different functions that you want to.

As an added bonus, when you choose any of the speed options in here, even the Default speed, your iOS device will vibrate and blink at the speed you’ll need to click that Home button. If you have an iPad without a vibration function, it’ll still blink.

Now kids, folks with motor difficulties, or anyone with a need for a slower click speed will be able to make their iOS device just that much more easily. Bravo, Apple.
