Leading game developer Big Fish Games is giving away free codes to the paid version of Fairway Solitaire for iPhone / iPod touch! Get a free code for the full version of the game by going here.

Fairway Solitaire is a fun mix of the classic card game, Solitaire, and golf. While teeing shots, putting balls and clearing courses, a pesky gopher pops up occasionally to laugh at the ineptitude of the card-turning, 8-iron swinging player. The antagonistic gopher, McDivot, is a sworn enemy of all golfers. The game is rated 5/5 stars on iTunes.

Fairway Solitaire is played by attempting to finish several hands of on-screen Solitaire under par (calculated by the number of playing cards unused), with extra points for holing golf balls, clearing bunkers, and bailing out of water hazards. And don’t forget mulligans! The content is virtually endless. There are many Course Packs to earn and three Daily Challenge courses are added every day. It isn’t hard to see why this addictive single-player card game is rated 5/5 starts on iTunes.

Players can pick up extra golf clubs and win trophies as the game is under way. Earn golf bucks by completing holes, then move up to more advanced courses and enter the Pro Shop to purchase additional wood and iron for your golf bag.

This fast-moving app is brilliantly animated and very absorbing. It’s not always clear what’s going on, or what McDivot the gopher is doing — but these unknown increments make the game interesting and compelling. It’s a really enjoyable virtual outing on the fairway.

As part of the giveaway, Big Fish will also gift a free $50 iTunes Gift Card to one lucky Cult of Mac reader.
