New Samsung Commercial Makes Fun Of People Waiting In Line For iPhone 5, Again

There goes Samsung. Trying to win over iPhone users by releasing a new commercial that calls them a bunch of dumb hipster sheep. Again. Samsung isn’t going to win any fans by releasing these commercials every year, but to be honest, I actually enjoy them.

I mean, I don’t think the Samsung Galaxy S3 is better than the iPhone 5, or that people who wait in line for the new iPhone are stupid. But you totally hear Apple fans say ridiculous things like, “this phone is going to be like a precious jewel,” or “they should have a priority line for people who have waited five times.”

There’s no point in taking your smartphone preference too seriously, and even though Samsung’s newest commercial is almost offensive, it’s also kind of funny.

I never understood the direction they are going with these ads. “Our competitors phones are so popular that people camp out for them, unlike ours.”

These commercials always make me laugh. Though they won’t show the issues people are having with the GSIII. Every carrier is having signal issues. I was in a Sprint store buying an iPhone for my son and a guy walks in complaining he can’t get a signal in the middle of downtown Denver. The Sprint rep just said wait for the Jellybean update!? Really??? That’s your answer? “It’s a known issue, and we’re working on it.” I’m glad my son went with the iPhone instead of the GSIII. I know he would have regret his decision. Though to give credit the gimmicks Samsung uses are nice for the time being. Still it’s an Android…buggy at best.

There’s plenty of room in the market for all of us. Just a shame Samsung has to be kinda jerkish with these ads.

I think the worst thing about these ads is that they relentlessly mock people – not apple – but everyday people who happen to favor apple and its products. I don’t think calling people idiots is a good strategy to win them over.

  • nefan65

They did these last year. Granted they’re not the exact same ones, but similar. Kinda old..

Samdung needs to get over it. Work on making a good phone, and sell it on it’s own merit.

It isn’t. But that’s not really what the ads are about. They aren’t about iPhone users but those that haven’t made a choice to go smartphone yet. And those folks might be nudged by these ads. Or not

Then again if they buy the phone nd return it a week later to get a windows phone, iPhone etc, Samsung cn still punt it as a sale

How do you know that this video is actually published by Samsung instead of some Apple fanboy douche bags who wanted Samsung to look bad? If you are going to post these videos then you better tell us where they came from because I couldn’t find them on neither Samsung’s website or Facebook.

  • Ian Bradley

I honestly can’t see the point of sitting in a queue for days on end for something that you can have brought to the door just as early. These knobheads give people who like Apple products a bad name!

  • Buster

@imperviious click on the link to view the video on YouTube knucklehead, and you’ll find that the video is from Samsung’s official YouTube page.

Its so funny how worked up people get over the Samsung ads. I have owned two iPhones (4, 4S) and have an iP5 on pre-order and I laugh at the people standing in line at my local Apple Store on launch day, why, because I don’t see the value is wasting your day standing in line for something you can get delivered on the day of launch.

I have used my co-workers GS3 on Verizon, he loves his phone and its nice hardware yet I chose to get an iP5. I am not iSheep or Anti-Android I am pro-consumer and I chose the phone that fits my needs, and works well with my MacBook Pro and iPad 3 LTE.

I hate how they always make fun of iPhones for not being able to touch and share…. EXCEPT…. OH WAIT there’s an APP for that, or actually a bunch of apps to choose from for that. Can someone say BUMP, which I think actually has more options than what Samsung can do.

I want to see Apple vs Samsung commercials like the old I’m a Mac and I’m a PC. Those could EASILY get the right info out to those who don’t know any better.

Not that Apple needs to considering the market share they own, but even still.

They are just phones, you know, so you can talk to people? Get a life why don’t you! And just to make it clear, I use an iPhone, never had an android.

One thing you to keep in mind is that this is marketing. Apple did the SAME thing in their “mac vs windows” ads. Get over it and buy your iPhone. You have to be smarter then the marketing team whether its Apple, samsung, windows, etc. every company wants to make their product as appealing as possible.

Except NO, they did NOT do the “SAME THING”. Samsung is mocking the customer. Apple mocked the competitor. In no way is that the same.

Samsung… the desperate bastard who cries to win…. innovate my friend, innovate.

  • Richard Peyton Smith

maybe apple should make commercials about those people waiting for the new galaxy s……..oh wait

  • James Groom

This makes me LOL… I have the Samsung Galaxy S3 and it has got to be the most annoying pain in my ass to date.

Battery life is crap and I mean crap doesn’t even last the day where my iPhone 4 outlasts the Galaxy S3 without having to turn almost everything off just to get some extra life out if it.

I’m dreading the day I got this phone can’t wait for my iPhone 5 tomorrow yay!!!

There not even close! In addition to other points made: just mocking companies not people. The market was hugely different in the PC space Microsoft was this un-innovative anti competitive juggernaut that had controlled north of 95% of the market for many years. Apple – Korea copy similar market share.

i’yd say most people don’t even us the call function that often there more pocket computers than anything you don’t need a dual core anything just to make calls and text people.

I think it’s hilarious. Like it or not, these stereotypes have a lot of truth behind them. I’ve been working with iPhone users for the past 4 years, and while not always the case, a good majority match up to those stereotypes.

What’s also hilarious is that anyone’s offended by it. If you are, I’m so sorry for the quality of your life. You must not be able to hear a joke, watch a standup comic, enjoy a movie or tv show without being offended. A sad, boring life indeed. Seriously, seek help about your lack of a sense of humor.

    tl;dr 100% funny, 51% true, 0% offensive
