Video: Watch the Multi-Touch Magic Mouse in Action

magic_mouse

Apple has created a video showing the new multi-touch Magic Mouse in action. Check it out below.

The mouse looks incredibly easy to use. It has several gestures built-in, including clicking, right clicking, zooming and swiping to backwards and forwards in Safari and iPhoto.

i would have like to have at least 3 finger gestures to activate expose or spaces, its kind of pointless to have only these standard features. i would rather buy a logitech mouse with several buttons to activate expose and spaces

    Totally COL!
This time they made a REAL usable mouse, i think.

But the Best thing IS that F**** 27 inch quad-core iMac!
    Holy F***!
    Only i am f***ing broke.

    Damn you !

    No 3rd and 4th click = fail

Apple should’ve kept the “squeeze button” and allowed a 3-finger click to tricker a middle mouse button.

This could have been so much better than it turned out, I just hope Apple doesn’t wait another 5 years to fix it…

Huh, I’ve been using the “screen zoom” functionality for a couple of years now. Control + scroll wheel already does that.

Isn’t this making something simple more difficult? I’ll keep my wirelss Mighty Mouse a bit longer.

But as indicated in another post above, no sqeeze for Expose? Maybe replaced by a swipe all finders or something.

Also is the primary “click” an actual tactile click with movement of the mouse like the Mighty – erm, I mean “Apple” Mouse?

I’m left handed. I kept my Mighy mouse righthanded button config though as the primary click anywhere is great for me an the kids using the mouse, but the right click could be troublesome to find sometimes. Definately have to lift off all other fingers.
I’m glad the clit –erm mini roller ball is gone though. That seemed to get jammed up really easily, and was useless even when I first go thte mouse – it would not scroll down untill i have it a complete de-gunking first (note – just have to roll the ball around – REALLY had for a minute or so).
I also find the base of my mouse pick up way more crud off of the mousepad than my other mice (Yes, I use my PC in the same spot and just swap KB and mouse – they are wireless too 8))
Guess I’ll just have to find one in a shop and see if I like it before dropping NZ$100+ on it when I upgrade my Mini this Christmas.
No Apple store here in NZ, so I have to wait for a reseller to have one. 8(
