Want Your iPhone 5 On Launch Day? Get It From AT&T, Verizon, Or Sprint

Unfortunately, Find My iPhone won't help in this case.
Don't wait two weeks for your iPhone 5 — order it from your carrier instead.

If you woke up late and missed your chance to pre-order the iPhone 5 from Apple before shipping estimates slipped, then don’t worry; there’s still a chance you’ll be able to get a handset delivered to your door on launch day. At things stand, AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint are still promising iPhone 5 delivery on September 21, but you’ll have to be quick.

If you order your iPhone 5 from Apple now, there’s a good chance you’ll be waiting up to three weeks after its launch to get your device. So try ordering it from your carrier instead. All three iPhone providers in the U.S. — that’s AT&T, Verizon, and Sprint — are still stating launch day delivery for the device.

You’ll have to be quick, though. It took just one hour for shipping estimates to slip to two weeks on the Apple online store, so there’s a good chance carrier estimates will be slipping soon, too. The one thing to remember, of course, is that carriers sometimes provide an estimated delivery date that isn’t guaranteed, so you’ll have to double-check you will receive your order on September 21 before you place it. Sometimes, a carrier’s promise isn’t as good as Apple’s.
