Mac gaming portal, GameAgent, today announced a new version of its web portal. The new update will launch in September of this year and include information on over 150 Mac games, as well as some new game discovery features.
GameAgent will also launch a new tool, called Mac Match, which will compare your Mac’s system profile to available Mac games, allowing you to know what will and will not work on your specific Mac before you purchase a game.
There will also be a price comparison feature to search for the best prices for Mac games across multiple online retail sources for Mac games, including the Mac App Store and Amazon.com. Other new features include Deal Alerts, User Reviews, and custom Collections, each of which will be discussed on the GameAgent website closer to the launch of the new site.
Current user accounts will, unfortunately, be wiped out during the transition, so if you’re already using GameAgent’s community features, you’ll need to re-sign up after the change over. Any orders placed before the 2.0 beta will, of course, be honored, according to the company website.
The current GameAgent portal functions as a storefront for many Mac games across a variety of formats and from a variety of Mac game companies like Aspyr, LucasArts, and 2K Games. You can purchase boxed or downloadable versions of many Mac games there, including Star Wars: Empire at War, Civilization V, and Call of Duty, all games brought to the Mac platform by Aspyr.
GameAgent 2.0 is expected to appear in beta form in the second week of September.
