NKMOS Ultima: World’s Finest Universal Car Mount – On Sale [Deal-Ending Soon!]

I don’t know about where you live, but here in British Columbia holding your cell phone in your hand to talk or text while driving is a no-no. The “I was just answering my kids, officer.” doesn’t hold water either. Now hands free options are everywhere. I made sure my wife has a car mount in her car. So she can see who is calling or keep directions up on screen. We’ve gone through several options and you know they all break. Why? Because they can’t adapt to the fact that people keep their iPhones in cases.

I think we have a solution to that problem with the NKMOS Universal car mount.

Regardless of all the other things you can read and see on the deals page, the one thing that really caught my eye was the fact that the holder is designed to hold not just an iPhone in a case (portrait or landscape, thank you), but devices as big as 84 mm! That’s like a Galaxy Note (or an iPad mini maybe?) or a smaller GPS!

So beyond the cool look (it does look cool, admit it). And the construction. This device just screams “we figured out you have your iPhones in cases!”.

And that’s good enough for me.

The NKMOS Ultima Universal Car Mount, retails for $110 (including shipping), but you can order it at Cult of Mac Deals for just $74 today. Shipping to Continental U.S. addresses only.

Hey ElmerjgAnto, you got it all wrong: http://amishrakefight.org/gfy

Retarded. Most, yes MOST, vehicle mounts are case and model agnostic. MOST have a bottom pad to prevent a loosely gripped device from slipping AND allow for a charging cable. MOST, online, cost under $20… and that’s here in Indonesia where such things come at a premium.

    Highly unrecommended.

I’ll buy if it’s like $20 but not $110 (albeit on sale for $74). Just bought one from eBay for $6. Brand is Dynex and Best Buy sells them for $20. The grip isn’t as good as NKMOS but there’s a workaround to make it really secured. Dynex comes with a bike mount too.

Good for non illegal states. Here in my states of east coast they ticket you for anything hanging that disrupts your field of view. Better to have it dash mounted or buy a car with one already designed with one.

Welcome to the United States, where you can’t get to work in the morning without unknowingly violating at least a 3 or 4 laws. The few things that ARE legal, of course, are taxed or heavily “regulated.”
