Apple’s wireless accessories are great at conserving battery life… so great, in fact, that when they suddenly run out of juice, it can be a shock to the system, since you never knew they were hard up for electricity to begin with.
On a Mac, it’s fairly complicated to see battery life on your connected devices through System Preferences, but wouldn’t it be great if you could check them out in your menu bar, just like your Mac’s remaining battery life? Thanks to Battery Status, you can.
Using Battery Status, you can add a menu bar dropdown that tells you what percent of the battery life is remaining in your Apple Wireless Keyboard, Magic Trackpad or Magic Mouse. And if you’re on a Mac laptop, you can even set up Battery Status to replace OS X’s default battery indicator and show your remaining laptop battery too.
Battery Status seems like a pretty great way to get a more thorough overview of your Mac’s current state of discharge than the built-in battery indicator. It costs $1.99 on the Mac App Store.
