I think I’d still prefer an external multi-touch trackpad for the desktop, but I can certainly see Apple going in this direction, and would be among the first in line to pick one up.

I am interested in seeing a mock-up based on the FCC filings discovered today. Those filings show a more rectangular look for the new mouse.

    It’s a passion…

The strong attraction of macs may be explained analytically by marketing gurus, but we know that mac sets the standard for a top-quality digital experience.

While mac gives millions of people motivation every day, each person has their own reason to use a mac. It’s the core idea building this medium.

Now mac users have a social network to share feelings and see reasons “Why are you in love with your mac?”.

    Shoot a video and share.

@Matt: the FCC filing shows the battery cover, the mouse could be any shape.

At any rate, the current Mighty Mouse is pretty uncomfortable. This one looks even worse — flat as a pancake and pointed on both ends. The “hockey puck” mouse has better ergonomics than this. I have fairly large hands (I can palm a basketball) so using a Mighty Mouse is simply out of the questions for me, but even my wife with her very small hands found the Mighty Mouse too small to be comfortable using.

Looks like something apple could come up with, but…
    - a precise and ergonomic mouse, that from apple has, in my opinion, yet to be seen. I really wish they would compromise just a tad on design contra functionality on that front.
