My Spidey sense is tingling.

We got all excited about The Amazing Spider-Man earlier this month when developers Gameloft released the title’s first teaser trailer. And today the official game of the 2012 blockbuster has hit the App Store. As you’d expect from Gameloft, the 3D visuals look terrific, and they promise to “make Spider-Man more realistic than ever before!”

I’m not sure we’d completely agree with that — he still looks better in 1080p on a Blu-ray — but we can see why Gameloft is proud of its graphics.

Get ready for intense web-slinging action with the Amazing Spider-Man! Join Spidey in the official game app of this highly anticipated 2012 blockbuster! Play through the movie storyline as Spider-Man faces off against the Lizard and rampaging gangs. Web-sling and crawl your way through an open, fully 3D New York while using your amazing skills to save the city.

The Amazing Spider-Man boasts more than 25 immersive missions inspired by the upcoming movie’s storyline, all of which are set in five distinct New York City districts, including Central Park, Times Square, and downtown Manhattan. Along the way you’ll need to keep an eye out for random missions, collectibles, and “other secrets” that are littered throughout the city.

The fight system allows you to take advantage of melee, ranged, and combo attacks, while a wide selection of upgrades give you the ability to customize and improve your style, attacks, and skills.

The Amazing Spider-Man is a universal title compatible with iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, and it’s available to download now in the App Store for $4.99.
