Lovely Lego Leica Look-a-Like

If this took photos, I would buy it.

There’s making things out of Lego, and then there’s making things out of Lego. And H.Y. Leung’s amazing white Leica M8 is firmly in the latter camp. His replica rangefinder might just be the best Lego fake we’ve ever seen (outside of anything to do with Star Wars, of course).

Painstakingly designed and constructed. Leung’s model has everything, right down to Leica’s rear-panel button bank and the iconic Leica red dot. You can even peer through the viewfinder and see out the other side.

In fact, the model is so impressive that I wouldn’t be surprised to see Leica actually make and sell a “Leica M8 Lego Leung Special Edition.” Only of course the plastic bricks would instead be fashioned from ivory or panda bones, and it would cost around $20,000.
