Shortly after the Chronic Dev Team released their iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak a couple weeks ago, Pod2g revealed that they had already begun work on a jailbreak for iOS 6. It seems, however, that it’s going to be a long time before we’re hacking Apple’s next iOS release.
According to Dev Team member MuscleNerd, iOS 6 breaks a whole lot of stuff, including Cydia, and it’ll be a while before there’s an iOS 6 jailbreak.
In a message posted to Twitter this morning, MuscleNerd wrote:

Of course, for a small minority of you, iOS 6 may negate the need for jailbreaking. Improvements like fullscreen mode in Safari, Facebook and Twitter links in Notification Center, and new features for many of the stock apps could mean that the tweaks you jailbreak for are no longer necessary.
But for the rest of you, it seems you’ll be clinging on to iOS 5 for a while if you want to keep your jailbreak.
UPDATE: Alex Heath, Cult of Mac’s expert in jailbreaking, pointed out that these issues are normal for iOS betas, and that we certainly haven’t seen the last of jailbreaking.
