Take Advantage Of Apple’s 2012 Back To School Promotion When You Buy A New Mac

As was rumored this morning, Apple has launched its Back to School promotion for 2012. Educational discounts are available for most Macs and the third-generation iPad. Buying a Mac gets you a free $100 iTunes gift card, and a new iPad purchases gets you a $50 gift card.

If you are planning to buy one of the new Macs Apple announced today, make sure to take advantage of the education discount if you’re eligible. Back to School runs through September 21st.

Cha-ching.

You can save hundreds of dollars off your Mac purchase if you’re currently in school. To qualify, “you must be a college student, a student accepted to a college, a parent buying for a college student, or a faculty or staff member from any grade level.”

The iMac, MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac Pro and new iPad are all part of Back to School this year (no refurbs), and nearly everything in the Apple Store is slightly cheaper if you apply your education discount. If you’re buying in a physical Apple Store, just ask the Apple employee who’s checking you out about Back to School.

So the iPad, that you get no education discount on, is part of the deal; but the Mac Mini, that you get a small $20 off and is just slightly more expensive than the iPad, is not. Either a typo or a misstep on the part of Apple.
