Apple Just Sent Us Our MobileMe Eviction Notice, Have You Gotten Yours?

Apple's going to destroy MobileMe in 30 days, so hurry and get out.

Apple is hell bent on detonating their MobileMe service on June 30th. If you’re still using it, they want you out, and now. Earlier this morning Apple sent email notices to customers who still use MobileMe, iWeb, and iDisk instead of iCloud and told them to pack their lovely treasures and head over to Me.com before everything gets lost in a digital fireball of destruction in 30days.

Why would some people be using MobileMe still? We don’t know. Steve Jobs hated that it was a big flop, and iCloud is like 50 times better – because it actually works. Even if your system doesn’t meet the minimum iCloud requirements you can still migrate your email and calendars to iCloud. Anytime Apple sends an email to customers it means they’re serious, so stop straggling and get your junk moved over to iCloud before the servers are shutdown for good.

Unwilling to upgrade to Lion? Look for our guide to the best MobileMe alternatives early next week.

what´s gonna happen with the web sites we created on .me ?  Apple has nothing on line to explain how to migrate those sites.  Even worst, with “iweb” when You create a website simply the menu built a new site without any problems, now what?   Theres no option on iWeb to send all files to an external web provider, I believe that Apple will ERASE iWeb too, as there is no reason to keep development of a software that does not work any more.

    any ideas ?

iCloud may be better, but don’t have iDisk neither iWeb…
I have documents in iDisk shared with hundreds of pages i’ve published!
    It’s really concern…

If you made your website in iWeb and are publishing to MobileMe, just publish somewhere else. Absolutely nothing will happen to the site if you have all the data on your computer.

iWeb will continue to work perfectly fine, first of all. Second, they cannot “erase” software from your computer. iWeb has nothing to do with MobileMe. You can publish to ANYWHERE with iWeb.

I received it, but already migrated my files to the Cloud. It didn’t take long to merge iWork files and Photos to the Cloud on the first public day.

I’m still looking for good contact syncing in Snow Leopard.  I really wish they would allow SL address book to sync with iCloud.

    Follow the instructions here.

Maybe COM can post this as a how to video?

why do they have to pull the gallery..

there’s nothing remotely comparable out there …
they must have a fantastic alternative lined up (ie: something which is not photostream)… let’s see!

The word is that Apple will expand photostream to allow albums and linking to albums as it was with the gallery in MobileMe.
