Sprint has just announced the availability of the HTC Bluetooth music adaptor for wirelessly streaming music from your phone through your car stereo speakers. It’s a fairly expensive adaptor at $59.99 and considering it plugs into a 3.5mm aux port, it’ll leave you wondering “why not just buy a cheap aux cable?”

There are plenty of alternatives out there that will certainly save you money, however, this new Bluetooth adaptor from HTC is supposed to offer a premium authentic sound thanks to embedded apt-X enhancement. That alone doesn’t have me convinced, but you’ll also have the freedom of no wires, along with the following features:

  • Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR (Minimum)
  • Supports Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP)
  • Supports CSR aptX™ codec
  • Stereo output to 3.5mm audio jack
  • Bluetooth Simple Secure Pairing
  • Auto-pairing with selected HTC phones or tablets
  • Automatic power off to conserve battery power
  • Battery capacity: 85 mAh
  • Play time: up to 5 hrs
  • Standby: 120 hrs

The fact that the adaptor needs to be charged seems like another drawback, not to mention streaming via Bluetooth will also eat up at your device’s battery life versus simply using a wire.

Well, at the minimum, it’s another option you have for listening to your music while on the go. This product is of course for anyone whose car stereo doesn’t already have Bluetooth, yet offers an auxiliary port.

This device supports a slew of devices so hit up the source link below if you’re interested.
