Flipboard for iOS has received another major update this morning, introducing a number of new features like SoundCloud and Readability integration, a new category dedicated to audio feeds, Accessibility options for the visually impaired, and lots more.

With Flipboard version 1.9 installed on your iOS device, you can connect to your SoundCloud account and enjoy “amazing sounds created and shared by your friends and people you follow.” And when your ears want more, you can check out the new Audio category in the Content Guide where you’ll find dozens of recommended audio feeds.

There are also new Accessibility features for the visually impaired, which uses Apple’s VoiceOver feature to help users navigate their way around Flipboard and listen to articles.

When you’re halfway through an article and your bus reaches its stop, you can save stories to Readability for reading later on. You can also view related sections for social networks on the iPhone:

For example, tap on the “Twitter” section title to view sections like “Your Tweets,” “Your Favorites” and “Tweets Mentioning You.”

Finally, there’s also full support for Japanese Flipboard users.

You can download the Flipboard 1.9 update for your iPhone, iPad and iPod touch now from the App Store.
