Huge Shocker: Men Love The Zooey Deschanel iPhone Ad

By

Zooey loves her iPhone.
Zooey loves her iPhone, and men love Zooey.

Try to not fall out of your chair or trip face-first into the pavement, because we have some breaking news for you: men love Zooey Deschanel. We’re not quite sure why, but it probably has something to do with her drop-dead gorgeousness and delightful quirkiness. Her hair is also very nice.

Apple knows that Zooey Deschanel is wonderful too, and you can see Zooey on TV talking to Siri in the newest ad for the iPhone 4S. Her spot with Apple runs alongside a similar iPhone ad starring the one and only Samuel L. Jackson.

According to new research, Apple’s latest ads are being received very well. Specifically, men between the age of 18-34 seem to really be showing interest in the Zooey ad. We wonder why.

The YouGov BrandIndex’s Buzz score is based off asking people the following question: “If you’ve heard anything about the brand in the last two weeks, through advertising, news or word of mouth, was it positive or negative?” Respondents are asked about all kinds of brands, including Apple competitors like BlackBerry, HTC, Motorola, Nokia and Samsung.

According to YouGov:

Apple has proven that celebrities go well with Siri.

Apple’s new iPhone ads featuring Zooey Deschanel and Samuel L. Jackson coincide with an increase in consumer perception for the brand among 18-34 year olds in the US. The recent improvement in consumer perception has pushed iPhone ahead of Android and distanced itself even more from the rest of the mobile device sector.

While both men and women were behind the perception lift, men registered the strongest push for the iPhone.

Android’s perception with the 18–34 demo dipped slightly when the iPhone campaign began running at the end of April.
